Guess Who Came to Visit..

GREG!  Greg came to visit!
It was just a bit breezy but his hair still looks good ;o)
For the first time since we have been snowbirds, Greg booked a flight to Ft. Myers with plans to spend a long weekend.

He arrived around 4:00 today and we got there early enough to have a beverage and a snack while we waited. The waiting areas have been somewhat remodeled with plenty of seating.
There were numerous airlines coming and going outside (obviously) but also some interesting things inside, including this Cadillac 1908 Model G
as well as this 2016 Maserati
To be honest, it doesn't look like anything special to me. but it does have a nice emblem.
still waiting...
Plenty of time to use the bathroom (again) and check out this statue by Columbian sculpture Edgardo Carmona, which is part of a current exhibition in Ft. Myers.
On the way home, we stopped at the Manatee Park in Ft. Myers.  Due to the unseasonably cool temperatures, we were very optimistic that we would see them in the warm water of the park.
I think I see something...
We were not disappointed.
I think this is the highest number we have ever seen.  It's too bad they are so unexciting, although Greg insists he saw one blow boogers.

We walked to the end of the boardwalk that overlooks the Orange River and saw several of them playing, creating quite a lot of splashing, which was kind of cool and something you don't see every day (unless you work at the Manatee Park).
It's a nice little park and I'm glad we stopped.

I'm glad we stopped.  We have three busy days planned so stay tuned...

Thanks for stopping by...

  1. I'm thinking you don't want to see just how quickly the alligators can move!
