See Ya Later, Alligator

After getting gas at Sam's Club ($3.25/gal), washing the truck, getting groceries and having lunch at home, we went for a walk around Ollie's Pond.

This guy was hanging out next to the path, soaking up some sun.  We walked past it once going one way, then walked past it again going the other way.  It was hot today, 86* and there was a nice bench maybe 15-20 feet from it, so we sat for awhile.  I know they can move really fast but I figured I only needed to run faster than Bill.

Definitely the closest I've been to an alligator without benefit of a fence.

We thought it located itself in the perfect place.

He watched us watching him, then slinked back into the pond.

Too Many Rocks, Not Enough Beach

This is exactly where Bill and I liked to sit at the beach.  It was only big enough for the two of us, which was perfect, filled with peace and quiet.  Those days are over ;o(

Apparently, there was a problem with erosion and this is the answer.

So now, we walk across the boardwalk and sit in the larger beach area, where everyone else sits and plays music and talks...yackety, yack, yack...  And where big boats sit stuck in the sand.

We will miss our little piece of peace.
