Charlotte Beach Sunset

We went out to eat early and I figured we would be able to swing by the beach for the sunset.  Well...we waited close to 30 minutes to get our meal, which was warm but not hot and not very good, which got us late to the beach.  The sun was already down but the after show was decent.

This Was Not Fun...

Another Saturday at Mercer's for coffee and cribbage.  We added another "C" today and had a chocolate chip cookie.  Technically, I think that's really three "C's".  haha

I was soundly beaten the first game.  It's hard to compete with an opponent that keeps counting 12 or 16 or 20.

I only needed to count 2 to win but Bill counted first, another freakin' 16,  to finish first.  Honestly, I was pissed!

He had face cards and fives and runs, one after another, after another, after another.  It's so frustrating.  He says is just luck.  Yeah, okay, but why is it "just luck" constantly for the same person?!

Fridge Photo Gallery Update

I like having pictures on the fridge of our family in order to keep them close.  I ordered prints of the pictures on this year's Christmas card, which I should have done when I ordered the cards but, alas, I didn't.  No worries, it's done now!

A Bath and Visit to the Vet Dr.

Lady Tessa got a bath today, the second one we've given her.  She isn't really disgusting tho because she had a couple at Bark Avenue.  She wasn't thrilled but was a lot more interested when she discovered treats were involved.  A lick mat, filled with a frozen peanut butter mixture, stuck to the back of the tub, did the trick.

Of course, we used Auntie Wendy's Beedandy Klean K9 Shampoo Bar.

Then, as if a bath wasn't enough...we had an appointment with the vet.  It was basically a "meet & greet" in order to get her added as a patient and entered into their system, which required a basic exam.  

We started using this vet with Titan and really liked his demeanor.  Even though he was running late, due to any emergency, Tessa was very well behaved!  Titan was always such a wreck at the vet, it was nice that she was calm and relaxed.

Our, well...MY, only concern was whether or not she was gaining too much weight.  She was 45# when we got her the end of April and now she's 49# but Dr. Siebert said she was perfect!  

It was a very satisfactory visit.  Now if Bill and I could just find a doctor...

Oh So Close

We had our Saturday coffees at Mercer's and a good, close game.

Alas, my streak has ended.  Bill won after pegging two on the deuce I played.

I had another deuce and was ready to pounce and move my six into the winning hole but then the light dawned and I realized he was already there.  hahaha. I wasn't even angry.

Sleeping Beauty

She is full of energy but it's so nice when she's worn out and finally falls alseep, especially when she uses the toy Auntie Wendy and Uncle Dan gave her as a pillow.

I'm Three for Three...whoopee

Considering that my partner, Karen Ann, and I were skunked twice the other day playing cribbage, it was a pleasant surprise to take two from Bill at Mercer's today.

By all rights, I should have lost the first one.  I was waaaay behind, but had a really good hand and crib, which made it possible for me to catch up.  From there, I have no explanation.

Admittedly, I'm a terrible, horrible loser.  And it totally makes me angry when every.single.card I play, gets pegged on by my opponent.  So, when I was waaaay behind, I was very angry and Bill was laughing at me, which just made me more angry.  If only my parents had raised a good loser.  

The second game was no contest. Bill just had bad cards, which are usually mine, so I know how it feels. However, he doesn't get angry.  He's a good loser. ;o)

It was a pleasant way to spend an hour or so but I know, without a doubt, my winning streak will come to an end.  I will, however, enjoy it while it lasts.

Falling Frond and First Florida Walk

Yikes!  This palm frond fell silently from the sky and landed right in front of us.  

Seriously, if Tessa hadn't stopped to pee, it would have landed ON us.  It's heavy, so it could have done some damage.

Tessa's first walk in Florida. We walked along the Linear Path to the first street, then right around the block.  It was already 82*, so we took it easy.  Truth...She doesn't really walk this nicely all the time...hahaha
