It's their last day already ;o( and it dawned windy and cold. We picked them up at the Hertz rental location in Pt. Charlotte at 10:15. We had coffees at Mercers, then came home and hung around till lunch. After lunch we dropped them off at the pool, even though it was cloudy and threatening rain.
We took Titan for a walk through the park, then sat on the deck and gave him a treat. We came in when it started to sprinkle. I napped on the couch and Bill napped on the floor. He picked Wendy and Dan up at 5:00 and I put dinner in the over.
We ate around 5:45 then went to Fisherman's Village for beverages from The Brewhouse, which we took to the new beach there to watch the sunset.
Wendy wanted frozen yogurt, so we all got some.
We got home about 8 and finished the desserts left from last night. I made treats for Titan, Wendy & Dan packed and went to bed around 9:30.

The Martineau's Come to Visit...Day 7
Geez, no pictures, again... (sigh)
We were supposed to go to the ballgame but it was rained out ;o( It's cool and damp today, the high only reached 64*. So, we had a slow, easy morning, then went to Mercer's for coffee.
Bill and I came home and took Titan for a walk while it wasn't raining. Wendy and Dan went to Beall's, then the Village Brewhouse for lunch. We ate lunch at home. I made some phone calls and worked on the checkbook.
They got home around 3:00. Dan took a nap, Wendy worked on Instagram, I did some wash, Bill read.
We left at 4:30 and went to The Ice House to play darts. We played three games and Dan won every time, with a different partner. Can't believe I didn't get any pictures ;o( On the way home we stopped at Beall's - Wendy got three pair of shorts, I got a pair of shoes and two pair of skinny jeans. Titan got a new toy. We were home by 7:00, fixed dinner, watched TV, ate dessert. Wendy had chocolate cake and the three of us had key lime pie.

The Martineau's Come to Visit...Day 6
A post without pictures...oh well ;o(
Wendy and Dan went with us for Titan's walk. They went ahead of us and walked three sections of the Linear Path, then met us at the Church and we walked back together. We are very s l o w walkers with Titan - must sniff everything! (him, not us)
We dropped Titan off, then took the "kids" to Fisherman's Village to borrow bikes so they could do their rum runner competition.
We went to Arby's for lunch, Publix and home. I did some laundry and we sat on the deck until it started spitting rain. I made the bed. We read until 7:00 when W & D texted they were headed to The Celtic Ray, where we met them for dinner. We sat outside for an hour but it was quite chilly and we got cold, so we headed inside. Our food was delivered just as we got settled. Returned home around 9:00.

The Martineau's Come to Visit...Day 5
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
This is a pretty special day here in sunny FL! We think it should be a special day everywhere but not everyone is Irish. Which is fine, we don't hold it against anyone.
Bill took Titan for a walk while the rest of us got ready for our day. We left about noon and headed to The Celtic Ray for their celebration. We got in the food line at 12:22 and had our food at 12:49. Pretty good service considering the place is mobbed! Wendy and I shared a table with some very nice people that we didn't know, while the "boys" stood behind us.
It was in the low 80's and hot in the sun. We found some shade across the street and settled in to enjoy beverages and music.
Dan has the best green shirt...not just for St. Patrick's Day but for any day. And, it gets him a free second drink at The Celtic Ray on Mondays!
We stayed until 3:00, then headed to the Brewhouse at Fisherman's Village. Bill dropped us off, then went to find a parking place. We put our names on the waiting list - one hour, which was perfect! - got beverages at the coffee shop and went to the new beach area to wait. Got a table at 4:00, right next to the water. Perfect ;o)
We had nachos and drinks, then ordered dinner. We ate while the Charlotte County Pipes and Drums played. Great timing!
We were home by 7:00. I did a load of wash, took a shower and made a batch of elderberry syrup.
We can never take just one photo on St. Patty's Day ;o) I just wish I could find another shirt!

The Martineau's Come to Visit...Day 4
It rained off and on till about 2:00...completely unacceptable. We had breakfast at the TnD Bakery, then walked to the farmer's market. We had coffee at Mercer's, got filets and potatoes at Beef Country, then home.
Wendy and Dan went to walk the bridge, we went to Aldi and Publix. We took Titan for a walk along 41, then sat on the deck while he ate his treat.
Wendy and Dan got home around 6:00. We had dinner and celebrated Wendy's 39th birthday.
We watched the movie "The Champions", then had cake and gave Wendy her gift.

The Martineau's Come to Visit...Day 3
3/15/19...
We had breakfast, Bill took Titan for a walk while the rest of us got ready for the day. We left around 10:30 and headed to the botanical gardens in Naples.
We stopped at Celebration Park for lunch at the food trucks - lots of choices. We sat and ate at the end of the park overlooking the canal and the floating Tiki bar boat.
We got to the gardens at 12:30 and spent a couple of hours. It started to rain just as we got to the orchid section, my favorite part, at the end. Perfect timing.
Lots of good pictures today. The first one Wendy tagged as "the Christmas card photo".
This is an awesome mosaic wall in the Brazilian garden section.
They pointed out this sign and said it would be a good saying for me but everyone that knows me, knows I don't have a Plan B. It's Plan A or nothing.
This tall glass sculpture was located in the Succulent Garden, as were the following plants.
They checked out the labyrinth...
They took this nice picture of us in the Asian Garden.
We left around 2:30, stopped at Starbucks, Publix and the liquor store on the way home.
After dinner we went to The Celtic Ray to see a band Bill wanted to see. Turned out they were the second band behind Born Again Heathens, who played from 7 - 9 and then another guy had the stage for 45 more minutes. The Peelers, the band Bill wanted to see (or hear ;o) didn't even start playing until 11:00! We listened for 15 minutes and headed home. I felt bad for Bill, he doesn't really ask for much and the one thing he wanted to do was kind of a bust. We'll have to look for them next year.

The Martineau's Come to Visit, Day 2
3/14/19...
We took the "kids" to pick up their rental car at Hertz in Pt. Charlotte. We parked the truck near the Paddy Wagon and walked south along 41, Wendy and Dan walked north until we met. They continued to walk with us until we turned around, they walked back to their car and went their separate way, stopping at Mercer's for coffees.
We went to Beef Country, where we got chicken patties for dinner and Winn-Dixie for veggies. We ate lunch together at home.
They "broke into the pool" by Hurricane Charley's; we went to the park to sit in the shade and read. We met at the house around 5:00, sat on the deck till 6ish, had dinner and went to Cubby's for ice cream. Yum!

The Martineau's Come to Visit
3/13/19...
We picked Wendy and Dan up in Ft. Myers at 12:45 - 25 minutes early! We stopped at Starbucks, then had pizza for lunch at the Mellow Mushroom. We stopped at Publix for a few things, then home.
Bill sat on the front deck with a cigar, the three of us sat on the back deck while Titan had his treat. We went to the Tiki Hut at 6:00 in order to get a seat, although sunset wasn't until 7:35. It was nice but not spectacular. We ate when we got home...Bill had pizza, Dan had sushi, Wendy and I had salads.
Wendy did a load of wash, they watched Survivor and went to bed at 9:00.
Pretty unexciting first day.
